Depicts 8 million toothpicks, equal to the number of trees harvested in the US every month to make the paper for mail order catalogs.

(This one reminds me of Green Dimes, a service to help you reduce the amount of junk mail you receive. It’s ridiculous you have to pay for something like this, though. A better option might be to utilize the Mail Preference Service.)

The Myrletown blog calls their list “The most comprehensive list of Humboldt blogs ever published.” I noticed Green Wheels made it in there, even though we don’t have an actual blog — yet.

I don’t expect friends to check my blog every two day to see if there are changes. But I know when their blogs are updated. How? Software gathers all the latest posts from blogs I subscribe to and manages it for me automatically. Here are my news feeds and blogs in Google Reader.

Wow. The Sierra Club really doesn’t get it.

Would someone please tell the Sierra Club Exec Board that the idea of an “environmentally friendly car” makes as much sense as a “non-violent death penalty?” While the vast majority of those concerned with global warming consider reduction of unneeded production to be at the core of a sane policy, the Sierra Club has endorsed a plan that includes virtually no role for conservation.”
